Throughout its 30 years history, CE3 Electronics has been engaged in a wide variety of product development projects. Today, CE3 Electronics continues to be a leader in complex electronic and electrical systems development. Our in-house Design team consists of trained professionals who know how to mitigate risk and deliver real business results. Our development process has been refined many times over and has been responsible for bringing hundreds of solutions to market and enhancing existing products in the following segments:

Development Stages

We bring decades of experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams to help our clients to identify risk, plan and develop concepts.

Once our proposal is approved by the client, we engage our team of electrical, electronic, software and mechanical development experts to initiate detailed drawings, simulation, PCB layout, custom coding and 3D modeling.

Upon approval of the engineering release, we set out to build the Alpha prototype to validate product requirements and fine tune for volume production of the design.

As manufacturing and design house, we can involve our colleagues in various departments to promptly initiate certification, build mass production test fixtures, select reliable component suppliers and implement appropriate quality control process.

System Level

  • Produce high level functional and state diagrams
  • Define system architecture and draft detailed schematics
  • Identify protocols and interface requirements
  • Evaluate 3rd party IP and open source platform/standards

PCB Level

  • Analog, digital, optical and RF design
  • Switched-mode power systems including motor drivers, offline/isolated AD-DC or DC-DC
  • Wires interfaces including RS232, RS485, eBUS, CAN, Ethernet
  • Wireless interfaces including sub-G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Cellular, RFI
  • Implementation of high-speed data lines, busses, isolation, spark gaps or high-current terminations


  • Define software architecture
  • Embedded realtime control or RTOS
  • Discrete control loops including finite-state machine, multi-input, multi-output or PID
  • Develop device drivers such as USB, I2C, Ethernet, EEPROM, SPI, ADC
  • Application development for Windows, Linux, Android, iOS or Web
  • Development in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, PHP, SQL, HTML JavaScript

Certification, Compliance & Quality Management

  • UL, CSA and QPS certification and audits
  • EMC and pre-compliance measurements to improve immunity/emissions and preparation for FCC or IC certification
  • ISO9001:2015, AS9100D (Aerospace), IPC-A-610 (Class I, II and III), IPC/WHMA-A-620A (Class I,II and III) and the Canadian Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD)

Mechanical Design

  • We have a long history of providing mechanical design services to accelerate our clients’ path to commercialization. Many of our designs are still relevant and in production after over a decade
